Tea For A May Queen ...

Queen elect Paula Smith and her court. Janice Patterson and Vir
ginia Case, who will rule over the May festivities on the Willamette uni
versity campus this coming weekend, will be honored at a formal tea on
Thursday afternoon when members of Mis Smith's sorority. Pi Beta Phi.
entertain at the State street chapter house.
Calling hours will be from 3 to 5:30 o'clock. Invitations will be in
the mail the first of the week -and all faculty members, students, alumnae
and mothers of the sorority, and friends are invited to honor the queen
and her princesses.
Miss Beverly Briggs will introduce to the line which will include Miss
Lorraine Murdock, house president. Mrs. Joseph A. Davidson, Queen
elect Paula Smith, her mother, Mrs. Lawrence A. Smith of Stayton, Prin
cess Janice Patterson and Mrs. Frank B. Patterson. Princess Virginia Cas-3
and Mrs. L. M. Case.
Miss Clarice Busselle is in charge of the affair. The May pole theme
will be carried out in the decorations.

Brown, daughter of the F. Ivan Browns, and Charles L. Offen, son
cf Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Offen of Toeka, Kansas. The ceremony
will be read at the First Congregational church at 4 o'clock.

his parents will ccrr.e by plane for their son's marriage the end of
the week.

her baby daughter will leave by plane tha first part of next week for Corpus Christi, Texas, to .n
Lt. Nelson, United States naval air corps. She has been at the heme cf her parents, Dr. and Mrs.
E. D. Johnson in Klamath Falls the past two months.
Captain and Mrs. Thomas Earle are visiting at the heme cf his parents, Mr. and Mi. S. M.

Fly to Canada
, Mr. and Mrs. James Valton are leaving by plane Monday for Ottawa, Canada, for a two
weeks sojourn. They will visit there with his grandmother. Mrs. Henry Fawk. an eld time Salem
resident, and his uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. W alter S. W$ods (Elene Fawk).
Mrs. G. L. Lovell is entraining Monday fcr the east coast where she will meet her daughter,
Margaret, who is receiving her discharge from the marines at Quantico. Va. From there the two
will go on to Washington. D. C, and along the east coast for a visit. Miss Lovell pkins to remain in
Maine for the summer at a resort hotel. Her mother will go flown to Williamsport. Pa., to rpend
the summer months with her sister, Mrs. Charles B. Voods. They "will return west in the fa!!.
