The poet heard a report by
Ernie Crowder, vice-commander,
on the Marlon county council held
at Suverton last Friday. Crowder
stated that Fred Lucht of Mt An
sel had been elected as the new
commander of the council, with
Louis Hall of Silverton as rice
president and lit McSherry - of
Salem re-elected to the position
Of secretary.
Ha likewise also stated that St I

council and that the next meeting
will be held there on January 18.
A reneral Invitation to the an
nual crawfish feed at Silverton
was relayed. The affair will be
held at the Suverton armory on
Friday. December 28. and will in
clude initiation for all new mem
bers of the county, the Salem de
cree team officiating Mt Ansel
expects to send 40 or mora new
members.
The unit members were told
that Mrs. Fred Lucht had been
selected as vice-president of the
Marion county assembly at last
Friday's gathering.

ley and third to Louis Anderson.
First prize was returned to the
committee to be added to next
year's.
James Adams reported for the
committee investigating the pirn
cedure for organizing a fire con
trol district and introduced a
speaker from the state fire mar-j
shall's office who explained the
various methods used in the dif
ferent sections of the state. He
assured the assistance and co-op4
I eration of the state fire depart-
ment in getting the district organ

McKinney back with them. Miss

during the war and is now
through with her Job. The Loren

are well known here where they
