sweet potatoes, orange juice,
orange rind, beaten .egg and salt.
Drain sausage. Place In bottom
cf an 8-lnch pie plate. Top with
sweet potato mixture. Bake In
a moderate oven' (J75 degrees)

Calif., of the marriage of Miss
Evelyn L. White, yeoman first
class, USNR, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Floyd E. White of Sa
lem, to Mr. Jesse W. Fowler,
aviation chief machinists mate,
USNR, son of Mr. and Mrs. I
J. Fowler of Pitman, New Jer
sey, which took place on Sun
day, December 16.
The afternoon ceremony was
performed by the Rev. Harris
Pillsbury at the First Presby
terian church- In Chico at S
o'clock. "
The bride, who was given In
marriage by her father, wore
her navy uniform and a corsage
of gardenias and white bouvar
dia. Miss Betty White was her
sister's only attendant She wore
an aqua crepe dress with black
accessories and a corsage of
white carnations. .
Mr. Cecil Coats of Chico stood
with Mr. Fowler as best man.
Mr. and Mrs. White, Miss Nita
andj Miss Betty White and Mrs.
Clarence Appelgate went south
for the wedding. Mrs. White
chose a moss green afternoon
gown and a corsage of pink
bouvardia, for her daughter's
nuptials. J
The wedding reception was
held immediately after the cere
mony at the home of the bride's
uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs.
Cecil Coats.
The newlyweds are coming
north on their wedding trip and
will be in Salem for the holi
days. Later they will leave for
New Jersey where they will
make their home. Mr. Fowler
and his bride have been sta
tioned at the naval air station
at Liverraore, Calif.
