CHICAGO, Dec. 20 A
flood of liquidation orders col
lapsed December rye within two
minutes near the end of trading
today and the price . was ! down
the full five cents allowed' in a
single day's business at the close.
A few traders who were caught
short on December wheat and
corn sought to cover their com
mitments on light scattered of
ferings which -were swapped
away for May and the new crop
months. Some interests sold oats
freely. i
Wheat closed unchanged to la

December $1.77i to $1.76.;
barley unchanged to s higher,
December $12i. I
Traders noted a report from
Washington that foreign! wheat
commitments of the commodity
credit corporation might force
some Kansas City flour mills to
close because of lack of supplies.
One authority said that mills
had obtained about 5,000,000
bushels of wheat under the CCC
program but that sales were dls
continued because remaining
government-owned stocks 'are not
readily available for milling and
those at terminal markets are
needed for export.
Receipts of wheat at principal
markets were reported to have
dropped to 602,000 bushels, about
S halt the volume of a week ago.
