68 in a playoff today.
Hogan, the Hershey, Pa., slug
ger, took the $2000 first prize
monet inl victory bonds with a
birdiei on the par five 18th hole.
"Jug McSpaden, of Sanford, Me.,
negotiated the hole in five strokes
to finish with a 69. He won sec
ond prize of $1333 in bonds.
McSpaden led by , one stroke
on the first nine, but Hogan pull
ed up even with a birdie three
on the 10th hole. Then he took
a two stroke lead. On the 15th
McSpaden pulled up even. They
halved the 16th and 17 holes.

Because navy food has a habit of
sticking to the ribs, the Joe Kahut
Gus Lesnevich match here will
not be for the light-heavyweight
championship, Matchmaker Joe
Waterman 6aid today. Date for
the affair has been moved up to
Jan. 11.
"It means a financial disappoint
ment to me," Waterman said, "but
f it's going to weaken Kahut to
make the weight, let's forget about
the championship and have him
fight as a heavyweight"
The Woodburn farmer boy, now
in the navy, weighed 185 pounds
