It was decided to have a carnival on October 28 to replenish the treasury and have money to purchase a new stove for the ' kitchen before - another year. Charles Nelson was appoint ed chairman of the carnival com mittee with L. L. Norton as as sistant chairman and W. I Cal laway, Mrs. J. L. Fenley, Mrs. Tom Kendrick and -Mrs. F. A. Rawlins as members. , The membership drive is to be intensified during, the next month and the winners announced at the October meeting. Port land General Electric company, was born at Silverton. lie served in the navy in the first World war and has been employed by the PGE company since 1229, in the traction department, light ' and power division, and later as Man ager of the St. Helen division and of the Gresham division. Butte ville, died Tuesday morning after a lingering illness. Mr. Scheurer was born Septem ber 11,. 1876 in Portland and was married to Lena Engelhart in 1912 at St. Louis, Ore., and had since resided at Butteville. He was a member of the Hermes Lodge No. 56 Knights of Pythias for over 25 years. Besides the widow, he leaves two daughters, Magdaleen Noble of Portland; and Catherine Baker ef Donald; four grandchildren. Mrs; Heiser Funeral Held ALBANY Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Katie Heiser, 71," who died at the ' Falwell . Nursing home, -following- a short illness Sunday night,' September 23, were held from the Immanuel Lutheran church at 2 o'clock Wednesday, September 26. Rev. R. H. Weiland conducted the services. Burial was in the Sand Ridge cemetery. The Fisher Funeral ' home was in charge. Anna Wolhaupt was born April 13, 1874, in Phillips, Wis. She ater lived for a time in Marshal county, Minn., where she was married to Fred Andrew Heiser on February 2, 1889. In 1912 they came to Oregon, settling in Al bany, where they have lived for the past 33 years. Mr. Heiser died here on May 28 of this year. Mrs. Heiser was a member of the Lu theran church. Surviving are two children, Frank Heiser of Albany and Mrs. Emma Pain of Kenne wick, Wash. Three brothers and a sister, eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren also survive. The brothers are William Wolhaupt of Albany, Charles Wolhaupt of On- alaska. Wash., and Henry WoK haupt of Fordville, N.D., and the sister Is Mrs. Minnie Mellentine of Minneapolis, Minn. Margcret Stef fes was born in Germany March 31872 and died at Sublimity Monday noon at the age of 73 years. She was mar ried to Frank Michels January 9, 1894, at Parkston, South Dakota. They came to Oregon November 1920 and made their home near Sublimity. Mr. Michels died in 1930. She" is survived by four daugh ters, Mrs. Gertrude Kremer of Sublimity, Mrs. Kathryn Bable of Salem, Mrs. Marie Mack of Wash ougal, Wash, and Mrs. Anna Ben edict of Stayton, and three sons, Anthony, John and Richard Mich els oi Washougal.
