The total to be raised for the
Oregon war chest in the October
campaign has been established i at
$1,385,339, according to Charles
A. Sprague, president. There ex
ists a surplus from the 1944 cam
paign in 1 the amount of $28,422,
which will bo abolied on the total
reduce the amount
ui ina total amount oi money,
the National War fund, which fi
nances the USO, United Seamen's
service and 17 other national
agencies, will receive $1,048,500.
The , balance of - the money re
mains inithe state for the use; of
eight state, agencies and a nomi
nal sum for campaign costs, j .
The - quotas , for the various
counties have been establish,
and each county organization "will
add to its Oregon war chest quota
an amount sufficient to meet local
expenses t and to cover budgets
for local agencies. It it anticipat
ed that the over-all amount to be
raised this year will be over S2,
500,000. j ; ! .
