Harlan S. Callahan said tonight
police throughout the northwest
had been asked: to watch for a
Seattle speakeasy - proprietor
wanted for' questioning in con
nection with the shooting of Wall
ter Bernard Foley, jr, 22, a Uni
versity of Washington sophomore.
While he did not reveal the
man's name, Callahan said he was

and has "been picked up here in
connection with the liquor rack

beef which, according to a report
from Portland had spoiled on its
arrival at Camp Adair,' Ore, had
never been intended : for use at
Fort Lewis and never came here.
: The Portland report said that
the beef reached Camp Adair af
ter it had gone to Fort Lewis
where it was "not needed." . j '
This post has always accepted
all beef intended for its use, army
officials here said. They added
that the spoilage at Camp Adair
had resulted from improper icing.

ference of the Evangelical church
today became the first area in the
nation to' approve merging with
the United Brethren denomination.
The vote was 99 to 0.
Interest centered on the north
west vote because six of the seven
dissenting votes on the same pro
posal, made at the general con
ference, were by delegates' of this
area. ".
In another move, the group vot
ed to become self-supporting for
the first time in its 62-year ex
