r Sift- and jneasura flour; sift agaia with baJunf
powder and salt. Beat ef(S well with rotary
baater; add auf ar gradually and continua btinjr
until mixture is very light. Add dry ingredients
and stir until smooth. Add flavoring. Heat milk
to boiling; add butter or margarine; stir quickly
into batter. Pour immediately into 9-inch well
greased and floured cake pan and bake in mod
erate oven (350 F.) about 20 minutes or until
done. Remove from pan; cool on ' rack. Serve
topped with Fresh Fruit or Berry Whip. (Recipe
follows.)
FRISH FRUIT WHIP
Soften 1 tablespoon un flavored gelatin in M cup
cold water, then dissolve in H cup hot water.
Combine J cup sugar, 1 H cups crushed fruit or
berries, V tap. salt, and 2 tbeps. lemon juice; add
to gelatin. Chill until thick and syrupy; beat with
rotary beater until foamy. Fold in stiffly beaten
whites of 2 eggs. Chill until firm.

Use your favorite biscuit dough recipe. RoU
. dough about inch thick; cut into six 4-ineh
aquarea. Place about $ cup sweetened fresh
berries or sliced fruit in center of squares. Fold
over diagonally; press edges together well with
. fork. Prick top to allow steam to escape. Bake in
hot oven (450 F.) 15 minutes; reduce heat to
moderately hot (400 F.) and continue baking 15
minutes longer or until done. .
