placements. In her initial action,
the Grayson was part of the his
toric carrier force that accompan
ied the Doolittle raiders for the
first air strike on Tokyo in April,
1942.
While screening two crippled
ships off Formosa as part of a
task force, the Grayson picked up
200 survivors from the stricken
vessels. -
