Valley Briefs -r- Plan Memorial The Silverton VFW plans a special j memorial service at the, regular meeting May 30. Mayor George Chris ten sen has issued a proclamation set ting aside May 25 and 26 as Poppy days for Silverton where the VFW and American Legion auxiliaries will sell poppies on those two days. Mrs. Lester Standard is chairman for the VFW and Mrs. C. H. Dickerson for the Ameri can Legion. Clear Lake Graduation Grad uation exercises will be held at the Clear Lake school Tuesday, May 22, at 7:30 pm The graduates are Patty Cooksley, Ronald Ham mack, Vera Rich, Donald Weath ers. The invocation will be made by Rev. W. H. Cooksley of the Clear Lake Evangelical church. The commencement address will be given by Rev. Dudley Strain, pastor of the First church. Christian Mrs. Booth Speaker Agnes Booth, county school superintend ent, will be the speaker Thurs day at the Middle Grove com mencement. I Kadderly Comes West Wallace Kadderly, formerly of the Oregon State college extension staff and recently with the U. S. Depart ment of agriculture in Washington, is coming back to Oregon July to be agricultural news manager of KGW. Kadderly, a graduate of Oregon State college in 1916, has many friends in the Willamette valley, j , Falls. John Trachsel tie speaker. The annual school picnic will be held Thursday at the school with, those attending bringing la regular picnic dinner. At 2:30 In the afternoon a soft ball game will be played with both boys and girls teams playing. On Friday the pupils will return for their report cards.
