The Engagement of Miss Gayle
Crozier, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Frank Crozier, to Staff Ser
geant Arthur LeRoy Priem, son
of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Priem,
was revealed Saturday night at
a smartly arranged party at the
Crozier home.
-. The wedding date has been set
for. Saturday, April 14 at i the
Court Street Christian church.
The groom-to-be, who is station
ed at Scott Field, Illinois, will ar
rive in the capital several days
before the ceremony. - j-
. Miss Crozier and her fiance
are both graduates of Salem high
school and ; later attended Wil
lamette university. She is now
employed at the state library; v
j Guests learned the news at the
supper hour when individual
cards bearing the names of the
couple and the date were at each
place. The table centerpiece was
of daffodils and yellow candles.

had as her house guest the past
week her Pi Beta Phi sorority
sister, Miss Louise Knouff of
Portland.
Miss Griffith, the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Lewis' Griffith, and
Miss Knouff will enter the Uni
versity of Oregon Medical school
as members of the cadet nurses
corps on April 2.
The coeds just completed their
sophomore year at Willamette
university and were - popular
members of the university set
Mr. and Mrs. Griffith will ac
company their daughter to Port
land on Sunday.

emergency expert demonstrated
vegetable cookery and the serv
ing at luncheon Friday to mem
bers of the West Salem Home
Economic club at the home of
Mrs. Sara Chamberlain on Ter

Miss Taylor invited the wom
en to a demonstration at the
VFW hall on April 10 at 11 o'
clock. The next meeting of the
club will be at Mrs. Chamber

have returned from a two weeks'
trip which took them to San
Francisco and Los Angeles. Mr.
Sisson went south on a buying
trip.

Cameron, after a major operation

Vi cup butter f '
Vt cup granulated sugar
3 eggs, unbeaten
cup New Orleans molasses
Juice of 1 lemon
1 cup pecan meats, sliced. .
Line 9-inch pie plate with pas
try. Cream butter and sugar. Add
eggs, molasses and lemon Juice
and beat with rotary. egg beaten.
Add pecan meats and pour into
pastry-lined pie plate. Bake in
hot oven (450 degrees) 10 min
utes, then decrease heat to mod
erate (350 degrees) and bake 30
minutes longer.

Noble Grands to
Entertain Lodge
Miss Hazel Price, president
presided at the regular session
of the Past Noble grands when
they met at the home of Miss
Verda Olmsted. After the meet
ing refreshments were served
by Miss Olmsted, Mrs. Lora

Games were the diversion of the
evening. The club will entertain
the Salem Rebekah lodge No. 1
and the chairman of the commit
tee to decorate will be Mrs. Glen
