Court Holds
Paper Carrier
As Employe
The state supreme court, in a
6 to 1 decision, Tuesday , held that
rural carrier a an employe for
the Oregon Journal was subject to
the unemployment" compensation
, laws rather than an independent
Contractor. :v " , - ::t --j
, The carrier involved in. the pro
reeding is James R. Johnston, who
had contracts to deliver papers to
Benton and Linn county subscrib
ers and to pay the Journal , for
his papers. : .

The majority opinion, written
