cized as an isolationist, was as
sured Nevada's democratic sena
torial nomination today as hisop-
ponent,f Lt Gov. w Vail Pittman,
trailing: by 1178 votes conceded
defeat in one of this state's hot
test campaigns.
With all but 22 of the 283 pre
cincts reporting, the 88-year-old
chairman of the senate Judiciary
committee had 10,937 votes to
Pittman's 9759 as results of yes
terday's election were tabulated.
Pittman, KLY- publisher and
brother of the late Sen. JKey Pitt
man, extended his congratulations.
It was estimated several - days
might be required to, compile the
final vote. .
