lice were searching today for per
sons who vandalized the Japanese
cemetery . here, burning - wooden
grave markers and uprooting
stone monuments. ,
. What had once been neat lines
, of gravestones lay like rubble along
the fence of the cemetery, dese
crated before in 1943. A nearby
resident extinguished a fire set
,. among wooden grave markers.
. . , George J. Gauss, juvenile court
officer,, said : the stones were so
. scattered . they, probably never

for larceny, confessed to part of
the destruction, Clauss said. "But

Andrew Lalack, US navy, sea
man 2c, and Pvt. Joseph Lalack,
US marine corps, have returned
to San Diego after spending leave
with their parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Andrew Lalack of Dallas. They
also visited relatives in Mill City
and with their sister, Rose Lalack
of Salem.
