Hewitt for many years a resident
of this district who now resides
with her son-in-law and daughter,
Mr. and Mrs. C R. Smith near
McMinnville, was honored by her
grand children Mr. and Mrs. Ern
est Shelbarne at their Happy Val
ley, home, Sunday. She was 87
July 20. , : ;. ,
She is the mother of five child
ren. There are 19 grand children
and 28 ' great-grandchildren.
The children are Roy RS. Hewitt,
Salem; "Elmer Hewitt. Albany;
Mrs. C R. Smith, . McMinnville;
Mrs. " Henry Kerr, McMinnyille;
Mrs. E. M. Coats, Unionvale.

Oregon City spent several days
with her' mother, Mrs. Annette

and family of Ontario, Calif, have
moved to the Landwing place on
Crooked Finger road.
Walter Charles and Fern Miles
have purchased the building in
which the postoffice is housed. It
formerly housed the state bank of
Scotts Mills.
Finch Funeral to
Be Held Saturday
WOODBURN, July 20 Funer
al services for Theron Finch, 73,
who died Tuesday, will be held at
2 o'clock Saturday from the Ringo
chapel ' and burial will be made
in Portland by the side of his
wife, Carrie Belle Finch, who died
in March, 1939. !
Survivors include a son, Othie
V. Finch in California, and Mrs.
Dorothy Helen Calder, also in
California; and two brothers in
Iowa and one in Florida.
