Baccalaureate services will be held in the First Methodist church. Sunday, June 18, at 3 p. m. Chancellor Frederick M. Hunter will give the commencement address and Dr. Guy Good sell, a member of the Willamette board of trustees will; deliver the baccalaureate sermon. : Degrees will be granted, to , 35 members of the June, 1944, class. All but one will be the bachelor of arts. The one exception 1 the bachelor of music degree to be presented to Barbara Diefendorf, a voice major. Two members of the class, Ray Short and Hollis Huston,) psychology-philosophy majors, are leaving today for Duke university for work leading to a bachelor of divinity degree. Keith and, Kent Markee, former class members now in medical school under the army program, will be granted degrees at the commencement. Their major field is biology. Mr. Shadrick states in offer ing the position to Mr. Bartlett that he is confident mat he has selected a man with excellent background. "Mr. Bart lett started automobile repair service business in Salem in 1910, and has worked as auto repair and service expert ever since. He conducted his own business for four years, known" as foe & King Repair Shop; located in Salem at 530 Chemeketa street In 1942 he and his partner closed shop to go in war work with the Army Ordnance Service Commands shops in Salem. The Army Ordnance Serv ice shops moved to Oakland. Calif., eight months ago and Mr. Bartlett; was transferred to Oakland in charge of service. Many school problems will be discussed tat the 1 annual confer ence of the Oregon County School Superintendents which opens here next Tuesday and continues for four days. ' 1 The opening session will be de voted to consideration of school house plans with a representative from the federal office of educa tion participating. ' City school su perintendents will take part in this discussion. ; Principal speakers at Tuesday's sessions will include Secretary of State Robert S.
