veil in place. She carried a white
prayer book topped with an or-
. chid, and the streamers 'were
made of bridal knots. ' '

the wedding marches.
Mrs.. Martsfield wore a print
jersey dress with navy blue ac
cessories. Mrs. Down,' sr, also
wore a print Jersey . dress with
navy blue accessories. They both
'wore corsages of pink rosebuds
and sweetpeas. ; .;;
A reception flowed at the
Martsfield home 'tor members
for the two "families and bridal
party. The rooms were decorated
with spring flowers. The cake
was topped with a bride and a
marine and two flags, flanked
by four white candles. Miss
Margaret Traeger lighted the
candles, Mrs. Susan Booth cut
the cake, and serving were Miss
Kathleen Dahl, niece oft the
bridegroom, I of ' Valsetz, Miss
Marjorie Pratt, Mrs. Orien Ot
jen, and Mrs. Pat Lamburtus,
both sisters of the bride. Mrs.
James Martsfield, sister-in-law
of the bride, had charge of the
wedding book. !
For going away the bride wore
a brown top coat over a blue
, suit with white and brown ac
cessories and an orchid corsage.
Mrs. Down graduated from
Sacred Heart academy, and be-,
fore her marriage was connect
ed with the Farm Labor bureau.
Mr. Down graduated from Sil
verton schools and has just re
turned from 16 months of active
duty in the South Pacific. After
a short honeymoon he will re
turn to duty and Mrs. Down will

Eobert," Andrews farm at River
side, southwest of town. They ex
pect to make their home on the
farm. Mrs. Garr will be remem
bered better as Magdalene Koontz,
formerly of Salem and Albany.
Two other farm sales in the
same community have .also been
reported, the Phil Haddoh place
on the Peoria road having been
sold to R. A. Blackford of the
Camp Adair area, while in turn
the Haddons have ' bought and
moved to the Nels Peterson farm
opposite ' Riverside : community
