The Cub scouts have for den chiefs, Johnny Stump and Oscar Groves; Cub leaders, Ray Nelson and Arthur Peterson. Tommy Coleman is assistant den chief. About half of the membership of 60 is in each group. Nowowiejskl has been making arrangements for' securing life 'saving instruction Thursday nights at the Salem YMCA, nego- tiating through Vernon Merrick of Salem. - . Various weekend trips are planned, dependent on weath- er, among which Is visit to the Silver Creek Boy Scoot camp. Saturday afternoon an Easter erg hunt will be held for the scoots on Cupid's Knoll west of town. Special euests and en tertainers for the program hour were the OkiyuhoDi and Okihi groups of Camp-fire girls. The girls entered the room in processional, singing ritual songs. and took places in a semi-circle With Hazel Engle as reader, the exemplification "The March of Crafts' was presented. Each girl shared in a demonstration of a craft for which honor 'beads are won, and included home craft. health craft, camp craft, hand craft, nature craft, business craft and citizenship. Red Cross Sewing Occupies Stitchers McALPIN The McAloin Stitchers club met Tuesday at the home of Miss Margaret Doerfler Members did sewingfor the Red iross, exenanged seeds and plants and gave helpful-hints for victory gardens as roll call at the meet ing. A covered dish dinner was served at noon. A collection of pictures of Iceland from Cpl. Clair Morley, who has been stationed there for some months, and pic tures of Mr; and Mrs. C. F. Doer fler's new. home in central Ore gon were shown. Miss Doerfler told of her visit last week at the C. F. and 3 J. Doerfler homes in the mid-state.
