Elfstroms Hosts At Dinner Mr. and Mrs. Robert Elfstrom were hosts at a dinner party at their Center street home on Tuesday night In compliment to Mr. and Mrs. Fred Pickhard and daughter Penny, who have moved to Salem from Pendleton. Salem Girl Weds Portland Man The wedding of Georgine Rob ertson, daughter of Mrs. E. E. Schneider, and Mr. J. O. Sim mons of Salem, and CpL Ed ward Campbell, son of Mr. and Mrs. M. A. Campbell of Portland took place Thursday afternoon at Vancouver, Wash ington. Rev. J. A- Kunzman of ficiated. The bride wore an aqua blue suit, with brown accessories and an orchid corsage. Mrs. Vere Simmons, Sister-in-law of the bride, wearing a navy blue afternoon dress and a cor sage of talisman roses, attended the bride. Th bride's mother wore a flowered jersey dress, with matching accessories, and a cor sage of talisman roses. The groom's mother was dressed in a blue suit and accessories, and a corsage of roses. Lawrence Young of Portland was best man. . 1 , A reception was held in Port land at the home of the groom's parents after the ceremony. Mrs. Walter Yaeger cut the cake and Miss Gladys Anderson of Salem, Mrs. J. A. Hager and Mrs. Or ville Goodrich of Portland served. W. Houk, she is a senior at the Oregon College of Education. She has been active in the wom en's athletic association and the Christian youth movement She specialized in psychology and physical education. Her brother, Lester W. CHOP SUET MODESNE . 2 cups boiling water - i 3 bouillon cubes - ; S tablespoons soy sauce 1 pound diced fresh pork cup flour' - ' ' .;H cup mushrooms (4 oz. can) 1 cup sliced onion . 1 3 'cups celery strips S tablespoons butter ' 4 cups popped rice cereal ; l Pour boiling water over bou illon cubes and soy sauce to make stock. Brown meat in flour, remove, from heat and stir in 1 stock slowly. Add mushrooms and mushroom , juice, onion and . cdery. Cover and cook slowly about SO minutes, stirring oc casionally to prevent sticking. Melt i butter, pour over oven popped rice and heat thoroughly in oven or over slow heat, stir- ; ring frequently. Serve chop suey i around a mound of hot buttered o ven-popped rice. , Yield: 3 one-cup servings.
