where in England. Pvt. Ross has
mentioned in letters that the Eng
lish people are very friendly to
the United States soldiers and he
says the country where he is sta
tioned is very much like the Wil
lamette valley. Pvt. Ross was an
accountant and. auditor in Salem
and Lakeview before entering the
service early in 1943.
Li. Rupert Park who has been
stationed in the - Aleutians, is in
Salem for the holidays with his
wife, the former Marjorie Whit
tington, and his mother, Mrs. Ru
pert E. Park. He will report to his
new assignment in California soon
after Christmas.
Mrs. Blanche Cram has received
word from her son, Master Sgt.
Norman W. Cram, that he has ar
rived at the new air base at Lang
ley Field, Va. He was formerly
stationed at Clovis, NM.

Crum was employed at a meat
cutter at the Midget Market for
six years. His father. Ralph Crum,
petty officer first class, hasbeen

July. He is a veteran of the tix
world war and. was lornierir
meat cutter in and around Salem.
nnUi A. Johnson, a son-in-law
of the Crums, is a petty officer
v.?-, riau. stationed at Camp En-
dicott, RI, after serving ten months
overseas. He was at. home on leave

Johnson is the former Opal Crum:
