Late selling in rye spread to wheat and oats, both of which closed on minor losses. Although the rye pit was again the center of attention, and about twice as many brokers were represented there as in the wheat pit, activity was on : a considerably smaller scale than in previous days of the week. Turnover in rye this week has been the heaviest in history, At the close rye was off July 93 wheat was'down July $1.44 y4-H; Septem ber $1.44 corn was unchanged and oats were - lower. ' Interest in wheat was again at a low ebb. Failure of the govern ment to announce 1943 loan rates, rumors that a ceiling will be es tablished within a month, poor flour business and reasonably fa vorable crop reports all combined to dampen commercial and spec ulative activity.
