Salem, Grains Firm For Holiday CHICAGO, April 22. - JP - In the usual-dull pre-holiday trade, grain prices firmed Thursday on moderate buying roming from commission houses. Interest in the market was small in view of Friday's good Friday holiday. . At the close wheat was up 14 May $1.44Vi, July 1.43 W-H; corn was unchanged at ceilings. May $1.05, oats advanced ,i-4 and rye was up Trading In the May corn con tract was restricted at the max imum . and grain men said the market appeared be back where it was before OPA lifted ceilings.. ;.y..:. . j There was little news to influ ence wheat prices, either from the growing belt or Washington. Traders were interested in seeing how much warehouse stored loan wheat may be redeemed before April 30, when government loads on such wheat mature. It is es timated that between 100,000,000 and 160,000,000 will come into government hands. .... There was good buying in the May oats contract, apparently based on strong demand for cash grain.
