Friday with the ; hope! of sending it to the White House by nightfall. ; f ! Senator McNary (R-Qre), the minority leader, told the commit tee he thought no objection would be raised to this procedure, j Senator Bushfield (R-SD), who had opposed the sale of the wheat for fear it meant congressional acceptance of responsibility for a "gamble" on a sufficient wheat crop this year, withheld his vote in committee. He announced j la ter he4 would not object' to floor consideration Friday. The resolution calls for sale of the wheat at 100 per cent of corn parity, which varies regionally on the basis of freight differentials. A previous sale of 125,000,000 bu shels was made at 85 per cent of corn parity. . The committee's action followed testimony that the wheat's sale; would bring only partial relief and that it must be followed soon1 by a lifting of corn price ceilings to thaw a frozen two billion j bu shels of corn. I i Grains Slump As Act Waited CHICAGO, March lM-Grain men waited upon Washington Thursday, hoping some action would . take place on the various price influencing bills tinder conf gressional consider ation, and wheat slumped in a dull trade. There were no important legisla tive developments while the mar ket was in session. ; Grains started higher, influ enced by a good opening upturn at Minneapolis, but the steam was soon out of the market and the trend was downward for most of the session. Toward the close weakness was uncovered in : rye, and that encouraged selling of wheat and oats. At the close wheat was H- lower, May $1.45 V4-, July $1.45-$1.46. Wool in Boston BOSTON. March 18 (AP USDA) Midwestern-fed lambs wools; were sold in the Boston wool market today at a wide range of prices. Thirty two cents grease basis was paid for a lot con taining mud tags and as high as 462 cents for a very light shrinking lot of fine and medium wool. Some pur chasing of mohair was reported from Texas of prices of 53 cents for adult and 75 cents for kid.
