Coleman Funeral
Services Are Held
WOODBURN Mary Ellen J.
Coleman died at her home at Hub
bard Sunday morning. ,
She was born at Butteville on
September 7, 1868, and had spent
her lifetime in this state. She was
a member of St Agnes. Catholic
church of Hubbard..
She is survived by a son, Fran
cis R. Coleman of St. Paul; a
brother. Jerome R. . Jackson of
Hubbard, and the following grand
children: Robert Coleman of Ger
vais, Captain James J. of the US
marine corps, Donald F. of Ger
vais, George M. of the US navy.
Rose-Mary Louise, Joseph D. and
Joan Helen Coleman, all of SL
Paul.
Funeral services were held in
the SL Paul Catholic church at
9 a. m. Wednesday, with burial
in SL Paul cemetery. Recitation
of the Rosary was held Monday
and Tuesday at 8 p. m. at the
Ringo chapeL

SILVERTON The Rev. Stan
ley VanWinkle of Hubbard, is
again at the Silverton hospital for
treatment. Rev. VanWinkle was
confined there for some' weeks
earlier this autumn.

Union Hill Starts
Repair Classes W
UNION HILL The first meet
ing of a rural war ' production
class in repair of tractors, trucks
and automobiles was held at the
Heater' farm shop at Union Hill
Monday. A class in repair work
was organized. Leonard Hudson,
Future Farmer Instructor in the
Silverton high school, is the sup
ervisor, and Dolph Heater of Un
ion Hill is the instructor. The
meeting was well attended by the
men of the surrounding communi
ties. The next meetings will be
held December 28, 29 and 31. The
meetings will continue for eight
weeks. -
Any farmer having repair work
on the above machinery should
contact f Dolph Heater as to the
most convenient time to bring the
machinery to work i on it The
course is free with the exception
of 'repair parts. Tools will be fur
nished for the work. ;

and is confined to her bed. She is
being cared for by her. daughter.
Miss Anne Hatteberg. Mrs. Hatte
berg has been ill for the last two
weeks.
Miss Charlotte Goplerud arrived
home Monday from Ta coma where
she is teaching. Miss Inga Gople
rud and Walter Goplerud, also
both teaching in Washington ' are
expected home for the holidays.
Ten additional acres of holly are
being set out in this community.
Dr. A. L. V. Smith of Silverton,
who 'some months ago purchased
the old Sundvold home, is setting
it out to holly. The Leon Algiers
are at present occupying the house
on the Smith farm.
Dimout Violator Fined

verton police judge, gave E. E.
Taylor a $5 fine for violation of
the . dimout. law. This was the
second fine of that order paid out
in a week, the first being meted
out to Harry. DeSart Mi-. DeSart's
violation was at his home and Mr.
Taylor's at his place of business.
