the treasury's $9,000,000,000 De

wheat "market's advance of 5 to
12 cents a bushel since the first
of the month to five-year high
prices was halted Monday when
profit taking lowered quotations
more than a cent a busheL -
; Other grains also reacted to
profit taking, with rye and corn
backing down fractionaly from
highs for the past several months.

. Wheat had only moderate sup
port . from mills, whose buying
has helped the recent price rise.
Also, there were reports . of en
larged, country selling of cash
wheat in some localities due to
the attractive prices. A car of
No. 2 hard was quoted at $1.41 in
the spot market here, 9 cents over
the government,, loan : rate. At
Kansas City No. 2 hard was quot
ed as high as $1.33, or 6 cents
over the loan rate.
