For the past two years Cap tain Ruegg has been with the air corps, stationed in Australia and New Guinea. He arrived in San Francisco a week ago and the wedding took place last Monday as soon as Captain' Ruegg could reach Omaha. Mrs. Ruegg visited her aunt at Royal. Mrs. Kenneth Dalton was Initiated into membership. Mrs. Thome H. Hammond and Miss Maria Dare, co-chairman of the club's annual Thanksgiv ing dance to be held at the Marion hotel on November 21, gave brief outlines of plans and announced that further details will be revealed this week through the press. This party will honor army officers and their wives and will be the first formal affair of the club season. The club will purchase two first aid kits . for company F, women's ambulance corps, and furnish a recreation room at Camp Adair. The sum of $158.82 was netted from the rummage sale. Support was pledged to Mr. Lee Moody, an invalid, whom the ,club is sponsoring. Parliamentary procedure was Informally discussed by Mr. Bill Thomas, senior law student at Willamette. The Nurses Aides of the Mar lon county Red Cross; have now completed : the first part of their training, according to Mrs. Brey- man Boise, chairman . of the committeej and are ready for in tensive training at a hospital. Mrs. Louise Arncson, RN, has been instructor. j The women have been attend ing daily three-hour classes for two weeks and will now be trained at the hospital In super vised practice three days a week for three weeks. Eighteen women are taking! the course New classes will be formed for the first period of the training, information will be given to those interested, by Mrs. Boise or at the Red Cross offices. Faculty Host At Dinner j Dr. Theodore Kratt, dean of the school of music at the Uni versity of i Oregon, a j visitor on the campus, was entertained Tuesday by members of the Wil lamette college of music at a dinner at Lausanne hall. Dr. Kratt has been J inspecting the curriculum and faculties of the university music department in his capacity as examiner for the National Association of Schools of Music Willamette's continued membership in the or ganization will be determined on the basis of Dr. Kratfs findings, to be announced early in De cember. Both uniforms are navy blue, but that of the WAVES has a single-breasted jacket with four gold navy . sq i ! i ) emblem buttons. The nurses wear a double-breasted jacket with six gold navy emblem but tons. The nurses' hat Is the same as the naval officers' cap, except that it has no visor and the cap emblem is an anchor and shield with "NNC" in raised letters across the shield. The WAVES hat is similar to the hat worn by English sailors in the Revolu tionary war period. The emblem is the same as that worn by na val officers. The nurses wear gold braid on their sleeves to designate rank while the WAVES wear reserve blue braid. The WAVES wear a white or a blue blouse with a black tie knotted in sailor fash Ion. The nurses wear a regula tion shirt with black four-ln-hand tie. Both wear plain black oxfords, but the WAVES wear natural colored hose while the nurses wear black. Medical Group At Dinner The Marion-Polk medical aux iliary met on Tuesday night at the home of Mrs. J. C. Evans. A dinner preceded the business session, which was presided over by Mrs. Ray Waltz, president. Dr. Vernon A. Douglas talked on the emergency medical part of civilian defense. Twenty-eight members attended , the meeting. Assisting Mrs. Evans as host' esses were Mrs. George William son, 'Mrs. Stuart Lancefield and Mrs. Charles.
