Churchill of Monmouth and a niece of Mrs. George Weller, with whom she has visited many times in Salem. The double ring cere mony was used. - Mrs. Scheuler is a graduate of Portland schools, of Western Washington College of Education at Bellingham and of University of Washington. She has been working for her master's degree at Columbia university," New York, and has taught remedial speech at Boise, Idaho. She is a member of Delta Delta Delta. Lieutenant Scheuler has his Jjachelor's degree and- master's degree from University of Wis consin and was working for his doctorate at Yale university . when he enlisted in the army air corps. J, : ' J' A ISS Shirley Mcodne Johnson has revealed 1 - Thursday, September 10, as the day of her wedding to Mr. LcrVrence C- Doerfler. The bride elect is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl H. John son, and her fiance is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Doerfler. The ceremony will take place at the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic church. Both the young ; couple attended Salem high school.. She is now employed at the Fred Meyer store and he working .for Ostrin Brothers. Miss Letz Becomes Mr. Helton's Bride At Attractive Church Ceremony -' Miss Esther Letz, (daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M. Letz, became the bride of Mr. Jack Helton of Bridalveil, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. Helton of Bridalveil, at a cer emony August 23 at 3 o'clock in the First Bethel Baptist church. The ceremony was performed before an altar decorated with flowers in pastel shades and were lighted by Miss Alice Fromm and Mrs. Thelma Noble. Preceding the ceremony, ,Mr. Henry Newman sang, "Because," "I Love You Truly" and was ac companied by Mr. William Fawk, who also played the wedding marches. The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a - white satin gown floor length and full skirt. She wore a finger-tip veil and carried a white proyer : book with gardenias. ' The honor maid, Miss Verna .Noble of Bridalveil, wore a blue taffeto gown with a square neck line, short puffed sleeves and carried a nosegay of mixed flow ers. Mrs. Roy Letz was brides maid and wore a pink taffeta . gown. The flower girl was Ar lyss Zeeb." ' Mr. William Collns was best man and ushers were Mr. Milo Kuhn and Mr. Roy Letz., A reception was held in the ; church parlors after the wedding. There are over 1250 women employes and 850 men in the bank.
