Corporal Horton is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John T. ilorton of "Cobool, Missouri. The home was decorated in pink, buff and white gladioluses and white candles, which Mrs. William Connell Dyer,' jr., of Salem lighted.. The bride was attired In a caramel brown suit silk and darker brown accessories. Her corsage was of orchids and bou vardia. " Mrs. E. R. Dodge of Portland, dressed in a light green suit and wearing pink tuberous begonias, was matron of honor. Mrs. Ruth Smith played the wedding marches and Mrs. Edna Morris was soloist. ' Mr. Warren McMinimee was best man for Corporal Horton. At the reception after the cere mony, Mrs. Loren Mort of Port land and Mrs. Delmer Desart of Salem served. Mrs. William Ri- dell of Tillamook poured. After a short stay at the Ore gon beaches, the bride and groom Will be at home in Independence. Corporal Horton is a graduate of Albany college was a munici pal Judge In Albany before join ing the army. He is now sta tioned at Camp Adair. - The bride. attended Tillamook schools and University of Ore gon. You can't drive on certain streets because there's a bond campaign blocking up the pavement, a sign says to turn right and when you go right for a block, you can't turn left, so you goon around to where you started. Activity Varied at Art-Recreation Center; Newspaper Published The third number of the "Rec reational news," a weekly bul letin of, parties, dances' and en tertainment planned for the sol diers and published by the Sa lem Art and Recreational Center, appeared this Friday with a clever cover design by Halley Johnson, staff member of the . center. The bulletins are sent each week to Camp Adair, fair grounds, airport, Hostell league and USO. . The information of "Recrea tion news" is obtained from the recreation agencies in the city through the weekly meetings of the city program planning com mittee, composed of Mrs. Lowell Kern of the senior hostess group; Dr. Henry Morris, UHA; Mr. . Robert Boardman, USO; Mr. Frank Earnest, chairman of the city defense recreation jcommit- ' tee; and Miss Rachael" Yocom, area supervisor of defense. Anyone wishing to be included in the bulletin may do so by I calling Miss Rachael Yocom at the Salem Art and Recreational Center, 6311. The bulletin goes to press Friday and covers the program from Sunday to the, following Saturday. The recreational program at Darley's has been planned to include a daily schedule of paint ing instruction for the children at the camp. Mrs. Gingrich Is well qualified to do this work because of her successful experi ence in teaching children's paint ing classes at the Art center for the past few years. In addition to art work for children, the recreation program at West Stayton conducted by Mrs. Gingrich will Include the organization of adult entertain ment and weekly home talent shows. As further need arises, other WPA recreation workers In this area will be transferred to the harvest center camps for the duration of the bean and 'hop picking industries. Stevenson home on Tuesday at an au revoir party for- Miss Madeline Morgan, who is awaiting navy permission to sail for Honolulu. Kleihege will sing. Bridal; Vows Read at Church On Saturday afternoon at 5 1 o'clock in the First Methodist church in Klamath Falls, Miss Harrle Crawford became the bride of Mr. Alan A. " Siewert. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry R. Crawford, and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Siewert. - , The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a brown wool tailored suit with white acces sories. . The maid of honor, Miss Beth Siewer, the groom's sister, wore a light blue wool suit, and white accessories. Mr. Donald Richards of Stl Helens was best man for Mr. Sie wert . The brides mother wore a - navy blue crepe dress with White accessories, and the groom's mo ther wore a rose crepe dress. The bride attended Salem high school . and graduated from St Helen's hall in Portland. She at- tended Willamette university, and was a member of Beta ChL She also attended University ol , Oregon and affiliated with Del ta Delta Delta sorority. Mr. Siewert is a graduate of Salem high school and of the University of Oregon. He is a member of Delta Tau Delta. He is now in the army air corps re serve and is training at Klamath Falls. The couple will live in Klam ath Falls until he completes his training. After the ceremony on Satur day, the two families had a wed ding dinner. - Attending the wedding from Salem were Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Siewert, Miss Beth Siewert, Mr. and Mrs. Crawford and Mr. and Mrs. Lee Crawford. Bride-Elect Is Honored "Mrs. J. J. Walshes Will Live Here . Mrs. Raymond Walsh (Jane Fry) and her two children have come to Salem from Eugene to live. They will make their home with Mrs. Walsh's mother, Mrs. D. J. Fry on South High street Mrs. Walsh's son Raymond will leave the first of October to enter the University of Cali fornia, transferring from Oregon State college, where he complet ed his freshman year in engi neering this June. At California he will major in electrical en gineering. He is a member of Kappa Sigma fraternity. Mrs. Walsh's daughter, Jane, will enter Salem high school as a junior. " . The.
