Y 1 m: 1 WIVES of officers at Camp Adair will soon, take their place In the social life of Salem and surrounding cities. Many have already taken houses here, others are coming soon.' Several events are being planned for officers drives in Salem, already the Corvallis Women's club and a Monmouth civic group have been hosts to them. Snapped by the photographer at the Corvallis Women's club tea Thursday, were wives of some of the officers. Upper lefrare Mrs. Hammond M. Monroe and Mrs. James L Brodley, both of whom have taken houses in Corval lis. Major General and Mrs. Bradley came recently from the Presidio, and their daughter Mildred, a graduate of University of California, remained in San Francisco, where she is in defense work. jThe Monroes are here from Wash ington D. C. General Brodley is commander of the 96th division and Col. Monroe is executive officer. Upper right, are Mrs. Gordon H. McCoy and Mrs. George C. Ferch. Colonel McCoy is post commander at Camp Adair. With hef ten year old daughter Beverly, Mrs. McCoy will live in Salem after September 1. CoL Ferch is post executive officer at Camp Adair. Emmerich, jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. William E. Emmerich of Portland, were married. The ceremony was read at 8 o'clock. The bride was given in marriage by Mr. Warren P. Smith, a family friend. ' " - The bride wore a gown of white embroidered organza with' a fingertip veil, held with a spray of bouvardia. She carried a white prayer book with "Streamers of white . ioses and bouvardia. . 1 Miss Darleh'e' Loviise Robertson was maid of honor and wore aqua marquisette and I parried white rises, Cecile Brunner roses and bouvardia; -K' K Mr. Edward Ringhoffer of Portland was" best' man, and Mr. Karl D. Emmerich, d ' cousin of -the groom, and Mr. Erwin Kalesse were ushers. Mr. Donald Burnett sang. "At " Dawning" and "Ah 'Sweet Mystery of Life." ' ' The bride S 'gbing away suit was of brown wool, with which she wore moss green accessories. Hert Corsage was a white orchid. Miller of Gervais, " became the bride of Mr. John William Anderson of Portland,- son of Mr. Carl William Anderson of Spokane. The wedding was solemnized at 8:30 o'clock. The church was decorated in all white, and lighted by white tapers. The bride was gowned in a white satin wedding dress, made princess style with ' long painted sleeves. Lace insertions were in the bodice, and there was a long train.' The veil was caught by a tiara of seed pearls. The bride's bouquet was of bouvardia, ' gardenias and ; purple throated orchidsi.
