Officer's Family Leases Residence MONMOUTH Lieut enant- Colonel and Mrs. A. B. Wilson and their three young sons have leased the former OCE infirmary build ing known as East house, and will occupy it as soon as improvements and remodeling are completed. The Wilsons came, from Spartans- burg, South Carolina, and prior to that were stationed in the Ha waiian islands. An interesting coincidence of their coming to Monmouth is the fact that Captain and Mrs. Her bert Powell attended the Wilsons' wedding in Honolulu. Also Pat he niews and Comedy iGary Cooper Star, Capitol Starring Gary Cooper, and with Andrea Leeds and David Niven heading an unusually important cast, Samuel GoldwynV new ad venture drama, "The Real Glory," now showing at 'the ; Capitol theatre, unfolds a tale of the Phil ippine scouts and their heroic bravery at the -conclusion of the Spanish-American war, when the Philippines- were overrun by in surrectionists and religious fa natics. The central theme of The Real Glory" revolves around the ex ploits of the scouts, who became a constabulary on the island and rallied to their support loyal na tives and peaceful Moros. The Moros, a tribe of unorthodox Mo hammedans, had retreated to the hills and jungles of the Sulu king dom to wage a fierce religious war against the remaining American troops. For the first time in his career, Cooper plays the role of a doctor, who comes to this distant outpost lor medical experience. He re mains to help the army quell the rebellion : and establish lasting peace. Miss Leeds in the role of an American visiting her father, also stays on not to win the war but to win a trip to the altar on the arm of Gary. Jo Swerling wrote the screen' play for "The Real Glory," and it is being released through United Artists. Two companion feature will be "To Be or Not to Be." "Skylark" Is I Merry Show The Broadway box" office stage hit, "Skylark" has been ' turned into one o fthe merriest movie romances of the season, -starring Claudette Colbert, Ray Milland and Brian Aherne7 "Skylark," which opens Sunday at the Holly' wood theatre, is a gay comedy of the matrimonial errors of a mod era young couple and a hand some, footloose bachelor. Claudette Colbert portrays i modern young wife who divorces her advertisingman husband when he places, his business career ahead of their love. But she's too deeply in love with him and vice versa to make it a permanen arrangement. Brian Ahernt,' i bachelor who Has a boat, a cap tivating line and a moon, talks Claudette into a skylark which finally lands her aboard the amorous young man's storm- tossed sloop. As one of the schedule, Warner Bros, have produced "In This Our Life" on a grand scale, an absorbing novel come to life on. the screen. ' John Huston, whose artistry is well known to motion picture audi ences through his handling of "The Maltese Falcon," directed the film. The story is concerned with the vicious behavior , of Stanley Timberlake, played by Miss Davis, and the havoc she wrought in other people's lives; especially that of her sister, Roy, portrayed by Olivia de Havilland. Stanley, ' wild, inconsiderate, persuades her sister's husband, Peter, played by Dennis Morgan, to get a divorce and run off with her, regardless of the fact that she is engaged to Craig, an aspir ing lawyer, played b y George Brent. Not content- with having dirsupted two lives, Stanley drives Peter to such depths of dispair that he commits suicide. Stanley returns and finds that in y her , absence Roy and Craig have fallen in love. In her us ual thoughtless but brutal man ner she tries to break "up the relationship, but. fails. The film, which gives, a colorful picture of the dangerous lives that are led by the men who build our vast suspension bridges, stars Alexis Smith, Lloyd Nolan and Craig Stevens in his first starring role. Lloyd Nolan, Craig Stevens and Edward Brophy play the roles of three brothers who work as fitters oh the construction of a giant span bridge. Gene Lockhart and Edward Ellis make up the supporting cast of "Steel Against the Sky" which was written by Paul Gerard Smith from a story by Maurice Hanline and : Jesse Lasky, jr. A. Edward Sutherland directed the film. - The companion feature is "Ap pointment for Love" with Mar garet Sullivan and Charles Boyer.
