Sugar Rationing
Work Completed
JEFFERSON This week ends
the canning sugar applications at
Jefferson. Two weeks have been
devoted to this by volunteer work
ers, who have given lour "hours
each day and eight hours Satur
day from regular work.
Only applications for canning
sugar have been taken at the
Jefferson office. They have then
been mailed to Stayton, where su
gar certificates are issued' and
mailed back to the office here for
distribution. About 400 or 500. ap
plications were taken in that time,
saving twice that number of trips
to Stayton.
