Makes Appeal
WEST SALEM Angelo Grosso
made a personal appeal to the
city council to be permitted tore
main here with his naturalized
familyThe council went on rec
ord favoring any courtesy that of
ficials may see fit to show -Grosso
in permitting him to maintain his
residence in West Salem.
The council based its decision
on the fact that Grosso, although

Churches Grculate
Anti-Nazi Papers
LONDON, June 4.-(7p)-Leaders
of both Protestant and Catholic
churches in the Netherlands have
circulated throughout the country
statements condemning nazi prin
ciples as a threat to religion, the
Netherlands news agency ' Aneta
said Thursday.
These statements "created a
tremendous impression in Holland
despite efforts of the nazi authori
ties to suppress them," Aneta aid.

Seven Hospitals
ALBANY Friday and Satur
day of this week has been set
apart as tag day for Albany peo
ple, the movement being for the
purpose of raising $500, the
amount to be used in buying sup
plies for seven local emergency
hospitals.
The campaign is being stax-ted
to equip these hospitals in order
that, in case, of necessity any
overflow of patients from the es
tablished hospital may be cared
for. The drive is being headed by
Lural Burggraf and Mrs. Don
