Two Die in Industry There
were two fatalities in Oregon due
to industrial accidents during the
week ended May 14, the state in
dustrial accident commission re
ported Saturday. The victims
were Roscoe Robert Wurm,
Springfield, faller, and Russell N
Babb, Stayton, choker, injured
April 27. There were 831 Indus
trial accidents reported during the
week.

Film To Be Shown At a pub
lic meeting at the Brush College
school house Monday night at 8
o'clock the film, "Fighting Incen
diary Bombs," will be shown. The
film has been loaned by the army
and is distributed through the
Oregon civilian defense council.
The film is of vital importance to
the community for protection of
the home.

lem senior high school auditor
ium for the final meeting of the
Salem victory garden school
starting at 8 o'clock.
Prof. Tom- E. Ornsdorf, in
charge of freezing and preserva
tion of food products at Oregon
State college, will lead discussion
on advantages, of this type of stor
ing of food products and care and
preservation . of these products
prior to freezing. He will bring
samples of frozen fruits and vegetables.

Increase Value
Valuations of public utilities in
Oregon have increased $12,700,000
in the last ten months, from $304,
896,180.37 to $317,612,545.17, a
statement released by the state
tax commission here Saturday dis
closed. All categories contributed sub
stantially to the increase with the
exception of express companies
and small telephone concerns.
