economic controls soon to be ap

actions totaled 390,080 shares

Davis Resigns
As Board Head
WOODBURN O. L. Davis,
president of the board of directors
of the Wodburn Fruit Growers
Cooperative association, has resigned.
Charles Sweaney, vice president,
became acting president pending
the selection of a new one.
Davis gave as his reason for
resigning the fact that due to the
shortage of help all his time is
now required to operate his farm.
His resignation leaves a vacancy
in the board which the board it
self is authorized to fill.
He has been a member of the
association for the past 18 or 20
years. He was president of the
board of directors in 1935, 1936
and 1937. In 1940 he was presi
dent and manager. In 1941 he
was manager and this year he was
again president.
Davis said he had recently
signed a new five-year contract as
an association member and ex
pects to continue his. membership
indefinitely.

Friday rallied more than 2 cents

This recovery, coining after

other grain prices, which had

Buying attributed to dealers
covering previous short sales and
to mills, who have been more ac

five months, accounted for
strength of wheat.
May wheat closed at $1.21-,
