of the freeze of the past winter
is apparent. Loganberries seem to

most, this ranges all the way from

The raspberries were not dam'

Grain Prices
Slide Again
CHICAGO, April 13-Hrain
prices were on the skids again
Monday after Saturday's modest
rally in some cereals.
Wheat and rye slumped about
cent a bushel and soybeans even
more. Prices in all pits closed at
or near the day's low points.
Washington reports that a new
governmental drive on inflation
is planned chilled buyers. Many
dealers who bought wheat Satur
day also were disappointed by fail
ure of flour and milling trade ac
tivity to expand after indications
of improved demand late last
week.
Wheat closed - cent lower
than Saturday, May $152, July
$U5-125; corn - down,
May 87-y4, July 89-; oats
- off; soybeans lower
and rye - lower. Lard prices
held unchanged at ceiling levels,
where they have been for more
than a month.
Latest government figures
showed farmers still are paying
off loans on 1941 stored wheat
even though prices are not high
enough to permit much, if any,
profit Grain men said they be
lieved the bulk of the grain being
redeemed is in farm storage since
producers may "be clearing room
for the new crop, although these
oans can be extended for another
year.
