McKee; was sworn in. 1 Mrs. Ida Becker, Crabtree; was hired to teach the fifth and sixth grades for next year, - and - Mrs. Nellie - Cornell of , Hubbard --was , hired to teach in-the high school. Harold Kick left Tuesday for his home in Ashland . after several days visit with his father and brothers here. He expects to be called soon into the army. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Oldenbura and family attended the wedding Sunday afternoon at the Evangel leal church, in Salenj of their niece, Muriel Gaiser, and Robert Richard Robinson. Quests soon expected at the Virgil Crow home at Scio include their former Missouri neighbors, Mr. and Mrs. Ward Morrell and son, and Pat Thornton, brother of Mrs. Morrell. His mother, Mrs. Godfrey Beck, has been ill. Air Patrol Adds Members, brills At Lebanon LEBANON The civilian air patrol added five new members to their group, thus bringing their number to 28. Drill by a local re serve officer is held each Sunday in Sweet Home and a night meet ing is held in Albtay at the air port Wednesdays. Santiam lodge has been closed for the season but the ski tows and Hoodoo bowl will be kept open until the first of May. There is still five feet of snow and ski ing conditions are said to be per fect The closing of the lodge this early is said to be because fewer skiers and weekend sports en thusiasts have been using the place this season, due, It is thought, to the added burden of defense work.
