An owl, which had evidently fallen asleep in the flu, zoomed out of the fireplace, its tail feath- ' ers aglow and streaked madly around the Proctor living room like a comet in high gear. Mrs. Proctor, afraid it would set the house on fire, scrambled after the flaming fowl. After several hasty circuits around the room, it roared back Into the fireplace where she cor nered it in the ashes. ' Mrs. Proctor took the bird out side and liberated it. She said it was alive, but didn't have any more feathers left on it than a stuffed Thanksgiving turkey. 1 T- I i COATESVILLE. Pa.--Lloyd Landis has lived two weeks with a .2r caliber bullet embedded in his heart. The other day he left his hospital bed for the first time, took a few easy steps and the bullet disappeared. Dr. Charles Stone suggested that the 31 -year-old construction worker's heart simply pumped it from low in the muscular tip or apex into one of the ventricles. From there, he said, the bullet may have been carried through the aorta and possibly to the dia phragm into the stomach. JF)- John Count, 64, released from Wayne county Jail after serving 11 days for intoxication, reappeared at the Jail shortly thereafter, his arms loaded with candy and cigarettes ' for his former mates who "were so nice to me." A few hours later Count plead ed guilty to a second charge of tntoxkation and was fined $1 nd costs and sentenced to serve CO days at the state farm.
