. Bee Dlseas Drops American
foulbrood, a dangerous infectuious
disease of bees, dropped to 2.88
per cent in 1941 in Oregon bee
colonies compared with 3.5 per
cent in 1940, the state agricultural
department announced Thursday.
In 1935, the state as a whole
showed 9.5 per cent and about
47 per cent of the apiaries were
infected. This year ' the apiaries
infected was reduced to 14.8 per
cent. . - -

Marion Jury Gives Woman
$1535 Damages for Accident
Damages totaling $1535 were awarded Thursday by a Mar
ion county circuit court jury for Lorene West in her case against
Ivan Martin and Ella Watt. The jury deliberated approximately
an hour before bringing in its verdict.
Plaintiff had asked $5033, and Mrs. Watt has field a counter
claim for $208 damages to her
car in the accident in which she,
