Buena Vista Women Elect Officers for Farmers Union to Be Chosen At Meet Tonight- BUENA VISTA At the Wom an's club meeting recently the following officers were elected: President, Lydia Wells; first vice president, Mrs. Banks; sec ond vice, Leone Long; secretary, Olive Wells; treasurer, Mabel Powell. The next meeting will be an all day meeting with cooperative dinner, November 28. The Farmers' Union men are planning some repair work and are invited to enjoy the dinner with the club ladies. Quite a num ber plan to attend the institute at Elkins November 26. Farmers' Union meets tonight lor election of officers. Mrs. Gar rett and Mrs, iQrville Wells are hostesses. Mrs. Olive Wells spent the weekend visiting relatives in Port land. Grandma Anderson is enjoying a visit with her sister, Mrs. King, from' New Jersey. Mr. and Mrs. Laurence Wells and Mr. and Mrs. Elvin Wells were down from Portland Sun day. Funeral services were held In Independence at 2 p.m. Sunday for their grandfather, Gabriel Locke. Mr. and Mrs. Earnest Deems and Wayne and Mrs. Clarence Thomas left Sunday to visit near Butler, Mo. They expect to be gone a month. Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Hultman and Deloros are enjoying a trip through California and other points enroute to visit with home folks in Dakota. Mr. arid Mrs. L. S. School Play On Calendar Faculty Members Hold Annual Dinner; Pep Rally Precedes Game SILVERTON Announcement is being made that the sophomore junior play, "One Wild Night," under the direction of Jack Med calf, will be given at the senior high school auditorium on the night of November 28. The Silverton faculty held its annual Thanksgiving dinner Tues day night at 6:30 at the high school cafeteria. Wives and hus bands of faculty members were also bidden to the affair. A pep rally and bonfire was enjoyed by the student body Tuesday night in anticipation of the Wednesday night Woodburn Silverton football game, the clos ing event of the football season. On Wednesday the two schools held exchange assemblies with Silverton putting on a program at Woodburn and Woodburn giving one at Silverton. The home economics class, un der the direction of Nina Asbar, served the dinner Monday night to Silverton Rotarians and their wives. Charity Project Discussed by Stitchers McALPIN The Stitchers club held ani all-day meeting Thurs day at the J. C. Krenz home to quilt for the hostess. Following the noon luncheon Mrs. Henry Ericksen presided. Plans for a Christmas charity were discussed and will be com pleted at theecember meeting. Mrs. I Theodore Fisher, Red Cross roll call solicitor for this district, announced the quota ex pected Snd asked who desired to assist with this to get in touch with her.
