tion. The Purvines were guests

home in Berkeley. The Misses

formal party in honor of their
sister-in-law during her stay in
the south.

turned to Salem Tuesday from
Chicago where she attended a

came home by way of San

annual benefit tea to be given

CUSJUON STYLE LAMB
SHOULD ES
Have a cushion style shoulder
of lamb prepared by your meat
retailer. This cut is made by re
moving cces from the lamb
shoulder, leaving " a good-sized
pocket for thedressing. Season
inside and out with salt and pep
per. Fm loosely-with celery
dressing. Sew" bf skewer the
opening. Place on a rack in an
uncovered pahfat side up, and
roast, without water, in a moder
ate oven (300 degrees) allowing
25 to 30 minutes to the pound.
CELERY DRESSING
1 cup finely chopped celery
1 tablespoon minced onion
1 tablespoon parsley
1 tablespoon butter
2M cups bread crumbs
teaspoon marjoram
' Vt teaspoon celery seed
teaspoon salt
Cook celery, onion and parsley
in butter for a few minutes. Add
other inredients and enough wa
ter or soup stock to make 1
slightly moist dressing.

1 pound ground beef '
2 tablespoons fat 's
1 teaspoon salt
Vt teaspoon pepper
3 tablespoons grated onion
1 small can broken mush
rooms 1 No. 2 cans prepared spa
ghetti Cook meat in melted fat until
crumbly and brown but not
hard. Add seasonings and mush
rooms. Fold in the spaghetti and
heat until the flavors are blend
ed. Garnish with buttered sliced
carrots.
Served with whole wheat
bread and fruit cup for dessert,
youll have a meal welcomed by
the entire family.
