meeting, full of Interest and' good
fellowship, was that of the Earm-
'n' union Monday.. There were
.visiting m,embers from Red Hills,
'Central Howell, Orchard Heights,
Fairfield and the Coos Bay local,
at North Bend.
j Mr. and Mrs. Lester C. David
son, route 8, were voted into the
membership of Bethel local and
jwere given the obligation by the
i president, Gus Schlicker. A fine
!oak gavel, beautifully turned and
' finished, which was made by
Vernon Johnson, president of Be
ithel local Jusflor group, was pre
sented to Bethel local in appreci
ation of the cooperation of the
seniors in every Junior project.
The entertainment feature was
j the showing of colored motion pic
itures of the Junior state camp at
Cleawox and of the Farmers
(Union oyster beds at North Bend,
shown by J. R. Barton, secretary
of the Coos Bay local.
Plans were made for a pie so
cial to be sponsored by the jun
iors and to be held at the No
vember meeting of Bethel local.

Hillcrest Girls
Donate Money
HILLCREST Girls from the
Hillcrest school have taken up a
collection among themselves and
Monday morning sent a sizeable
check into the Salem community
chest. Money for the donation
was partly saved from that
earned by the girls while har
vesting the fruit and vegetable
crop.
School has started with a staff
of three teachers and plans are
started to complete some branch
of NYA work during the winter
months.
