Ups Get Attention t Two series of meetings reaching every county in the state between October 14 and 24, have been ar ranged by the Oregon USDA ag ricultural defense , board ; as a means of acquainting workers in each of Oregons 36 counties with the task ahead in the farm de fense program and in preparing for carrying it out. The meeting in Marion county will be held October 16 and 23. The USDA agrlcnltonl de fense board, headed by Eobert Taylor, Adams, Includes repre sentatives of all agencies of the - federal department of agricul ture active in this' state. The board has been called upon by Secretary of Agriculture Wickard to direct the work of ag ricultural defense in this state, the chief item of which is increas ing the production of certain foods including milk, meat, eggs and vegetables both for process lng and home and market use.
