and a rising vote of thanks was
extended him for his services.
the budget of $14,197 was ac
cepted. An extra tax of $3000 to
take care of the expense of op
erating a school bus. Since this
district has ceased to furnish a
transportation system it has lost
students, and it 1s felt that the
tuition money gained from these
students will offset the extra
$3000 tax over a period of three
years. '
OAK POINT-i-Grove Peterson
was elected clerk to serve three'
years and Hugh Rogers automat
ically .becomes chairman for the
coming year.. .
Mrs. C. C Comstock rwas re
elected clerk for one year. Mrs.
Frank Alsip, who has taught the
school the last two years, will
teach again.
EOLA Mr. Burgermeister was
elected clerk for one year. The
budget for next year was passed.
ROSED ALE Ed Caldwell was
elected school director to fill the
vacancy left byjpoyd Bates. Mrs.
Lesta Bates - Was reappointed
'clerk. The budget, practically, the
same as last year's was accepted.
This includes bus service for high
school students.

The vacation Bible school will

program is open to everyone with
a special inviation extended to

DALLAS Mrs. Mae Campbell
Robinette, 24, wife of Glen Rob-
inette, died at the Dallas hospital
Wednesday following a brief ill
ness. She had become in only
the previous day at the home of
her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Scott
Campbell of the Bridgeport com
munity. Death was due to pneu
monia, complicated by heart trou
ble.
Mrs. Robinette was born in the
Bridgeport community. She grad
uated from Dallas high school in
136 and was employed at Cride'i

Payette, Idaho, October 20, 1939

Reported Better
SILVERTON Mrs. B. Tin
gelstad, who suffered a cerebral
hemorrhage two weeks ago, is
reported to be improving. She is
able to be up part of each day.
Mrs. Tingelstad is past 90 years
of age.
A. F. Hobart who underwent
an operation at the Good Samar
itan hospital on Wednesday is re
ported to be improving.
Mrs. Ed Lambert and infant
daughter will be able to leave the
hospital for their home on Sat
urday.

JEFFERSON' The Jefferson
band has started twice weekly
practices At the school house and
have' put . on their, second public
outdoor concert at the bandstand
on Main street "...

band is cooperating with . the
school students and is sponsoring
the concerts, which will be given
each Saturday night . between ' 8
and 9 o'clock. A feature of each
evening's entertainment will be
special numbers by different In
dividuals of the band and also
by outside talent '
Officers of the band include,
Gene Mary Redmond, president;
Billy Barnes, vice-president; Ken
neth; Zemlicka, secretary, and
Cliff Cole, treasurer.
This is the first time that Jeff
erson has had a band in the school
and last year it reached a mem
bership of 40. Students from the
fourth grade through high school
are permitted to play. The band
is under the direction of Mrs.
Lorena Brockway, who has been
rethired for next year. Mrs.
Brockway will direct the band
and teach mdsic in all the grades.

Wash., was a recent guest at the
home of Mrs. Keithel Hart" She
is a former teacher in the Jeff
erson school and for the past sev
en years has been teaching at
Montello, Nev., . and has been
