The men have been making their headquarters in Mill City for the past two weeks, and win move on to Sisters next week to complete their survey from a point IS miles east of Detroit to Sisters. i Elevations along the highway were taken to Gates, and ' the Southern Pacific railway bed, which skirts the road from there to Detroit, was used as a measur ing base to Detroit' The North Santiam highway will be charted from Detroit to Sisters. Exact location of a proposed hard-surfaced . highway from Gates to Detroit, a section now graveled, is still in doubt, accord ing to Lushine.
