Three Divisions Are
Listed for Annual
Lamb Display !
CLOVERDALE Plans ' for the
fourth Marion county fat lamb
; show to be held June 7 in Turner
we well underway, with keen in
terest being shown in every feat-
tire. " ' r
iThere are three divisions, thus
: giving every sheep, owner a
chance. These divisions are clas
sified as the 4H clubs, FFA and
the open classes.
'Everyone has an equal chance
as the lambs are to be taken from
the pasture and no extra feeding
or trimming is allowed. The
sheepman who only owns a few
head of sheep is urged to exhibit
his best lambs as well as the large
sheep owner. ' -
. Farmers are asked to save one
of their best fleeces at shearing
time to enter a wool display that
will be judged and prizes awarded.
There also will be approximately
SO prizes consisting of lamb chops
, and canned goods. A special feat
ure will be a flower exhibit by
Turner's Better Homes and par
den club.
: The state dog trials to be held
in connection with this show is
already drawing attention.
The show is sponsored by the
Cloverdale Farmer's union 1 and
will be held in the oak grove on
the Southern Pacific property be
tween the Masonic hall and the
railroad.. j "
Lunch will be served on the
grounds. Anyone wishing more
information may contact Wayne
Harding or Henry Ahrens, chair
man of the lamb show.

ing on the lamb show plans.

its next meeting May 21, when it will celebrate the 25th birth
day anniversary. If !
The general committee is comprised of charter members of
May 9, 1916, Nellie Hamilton, Mu
riel Salisbury, Martha Barnett and
Lucille McKinney. The first noble
grand of the lodge was Mrs. Nellie
Hamilton, with Alma Baker Cow
er of Newberg, second and Lucille
McKinney third noble grand.
Reports of the district conven
tion at Scotts Mills were made.
Fourteen members attended and
presented the vice-grands charge
of the degree work. Alice Titus
has been elected delegate to at

bekahs at Baker May 20 to 23.

made for the annual Flower Mis
sion day in June at the home of

filled in the barracks.

During the present year she has
been president of the Girls league,
secretary of the senior class, sec
retary of the student body, presi
dent of the Plenus Vitas pep club,
secretary-treasurer of the TNT
club, girls honorary and social
club.
She was also selected as one of
the candidates for the TNT hon
orary plaque, the final choice of
which will be announced on com
mencement night. She received the
DAR award as the most outstand
ing senior girt. ; -

for Mrs. Johanna Plas, 81, of
Crooked Finger, who died at the
Silverton hospital Tuesday from
complications following a fall,
were held from St Mary's Catholic
church" Thursday morning. :

the funeral sermon. Interment was
in Calvary cemetery, beside her
husband, who died in 1928.
Mrs. Plas was born in Germanv
and was united in marriage there
to oert Kas in 1888. They came
to America and settled at Crooked
Finger in 1909, where they operat
ed a large farm. ;
She is survived by seven chil
dren. .
