WOODBURN-The annual
achievement day for 4H was held
Friday with 123 members partic-
ioatina. The croup included , stu
dent from Washington Junior
high from the aeventh and eighth
grades and student from the fifth'
and sixth grades of Lincoln grade
school.
Displays and exhibits were
made in health clubs, sewing,
cooking, woodworking and forestry-Judges
were Virgil Lamb, Eve
lyn 'Birtchet, Mary Scollard, Lau
ra Ahlstrom and Bertha Dillon.
The following prize winners were

friends attended. Candy and
punch were sold and $6 was taken
in. It will buy a half scholarship
for ; 4H summer school. Wood-
burn's 4H exhibit -will be taken
to the county fair at Salem which
opens next Thursday.

Carloads of Onions
In Brooks Storage .
PORTLAND, April 23.-i-A
survey Wednesday showed 37 to
33 carloads of western Oregon on
ions held at Brooks and about 12
carloads in Portland storage. Op
erators said that if a carload a day
was shipped , east the stock soon
would be cleaned up
.About 40 carloads have been
shipped during the last 10 days.
Latest sales were around $4 per
central.

AURORA Daniel Niswonger,
74, died April 21, 1941, in the
Oregon City hospital. .
4 He had been a resident of Auro
ra for the past three and one
half years and of Bend and Port
land for 21 years before moving
to Aurora, where he lived with
his daughter, Mrs. Arthur MJHs.
Survivors are a daughter, Mrs.
Arthur Mills, Aurora; a sister,
Mrs. Nettie Lamps, Portland; two
brothers, Charles Niswonger,
Bend, and Elmer Niswonger, Tal
lant. '
Services will be held ' at the
Ransom-Miller funeral home in
Aurora at 2 o'clock Thursday,
Rev. Jonas. Turner, will officiate.
Interment i will be held in, the
family plot at Walla Walla, Wash,
beside his wife, who passed away
years ago.
