PAGE FOURTEEN-" Exhibit wm Be Benefit Old-Tune Pictures Arc to Be Display at Liberty Event LIBERTY An exhibition of old time pictures of pioneer Liberty folk or events or pictures of gen eral interest from the district's past will be on exhibition at . the 3H tea Friday. ' Everyone who wishes to exhibit something in this picture gallery, the hobby, handicraft or heirloom shows should get in touch with committee heads. Doors open at 10 a.m. for placing of exhibits. Committee heads are: pictures, Mrs. L. D. Walker, Mrs. Vernon Decatur, handicraft, heirlooms and hobbies; wdeding gown re view, Mrs. Harold Lane; program committee, Mrs. C. W. Stacey and Mrs. W. R. Dallas; tea, Mrs. Ma son Bishop and Mrs. Henry John son. 'The shows will be from 2:30 to 5 o'clock and from 7 to 9 pjn. Tea will be served. Proceeds will pay for a school girl's attendance at the two week 4H summer school. Called for Service DALLAS Walter William Hen ii, Black Rock, and Russell Sher wood Freeman, Salem, were noti fied to report for induction on April 2 by Max C. Graves, clerk of the Polk county selective service board. The men are called as re placements for two men who were rejected in the February and March calls. The post Tuesday night agreed to make a special survey of the grave registrations .in .the ceme terles of the community. Another sale of flags is being sponsored by the local Legion. Boy Scouts will aid with the sale. Plans are underway, to remodel and landscape the grounds sur rounding the hall.- Saturday, April 12 is the date set for the auxiliary Easter egg hunt for- children of the Legion, which will be held at the Fred Prosser home. Mil ler, Silverton, received word ear ly this week of the death of her sister; Mrs. Linda . Wiley, at Ship penburg, Pa. Mrs. Wiley had vis ited at Silverton and will be re membered by many. 1- Freddie Lucht, 7-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Lucht of Mt. Angel, was taken to his home early this week after a month's treatment at the Silverton hos pital following an accident. Young Freddie was struck by an auto mobile. Mrs. Kitty Sterner of Wahpe ton, ND, is spending several days at the home of her aunt, Mrs. Van Arnen of Mill street. Plans are all completed for the annual election of officers, family dinner and fun party being ar ranged by the local Parent Teacher association for Thursday night. The B y b e r g manufacturing plant is busy turning out flax pullers, scutchers and deseeders at its North Water street plant. Mr. and Mrs. L. C. Pedestrian Is Killed ALBANY- The first fatal auto pedestrian accident Albany has had in many months, occurred Monday evening," when Mrs. De lilah Campbell, 75, was hit by an auto driven by R. M. Saar. Death resulted almost instantly. The accident occurred at the intersection of Eighth and Main streets. According to reports given the police, Saar was driving east, when Mrs. Campbell, going south, instead of pausing on the safety zone in the middle of the four lane highway, apparently became confused and ran directly in front of the Saar car. She was blind in the left eye and it is believed that possibly the other eye did not function properly. Delilah Serry was born March 11, 1856, in Ponca, Neb., and spent the early years of her life in that state. In 1896 she was married to George Campbell. Mr. and Mrs. Campbell came to Oregon in 1906 and had since made their home in Albany where Mr. Campbell died June 8, 1934. The deceased was a member of the. Neighbors of Woodcraft and of fthe Rebekah lodges and had served as an officer in both or ganizations in all chairs. She was a member of the Methodist church and of the Past Guardian Neigh bors and the Past Noble Grand clubs. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon from the Fortmiller funeral home with bu rial in the Masonic cemetery. Surviving is one son, Forrest, a city mail carrier; one sister, Mrs. Isabel Beeson, and two grand daughters, Carolyn Lee and Geor gia Ann, all of Albany. Woman's Club to Meet Friday SALEM. HEIGHTS Salem Heights Woman's club will - meet at the hall Friday afternoon. Hob bies and heirlooms will be the topic of discussion. The basket weaving classes will be discontinued as Miss Reeves, the instructor, has been called to work elsewhere.
