Change Main Line Marion
County Engineer N. C. Hubbs
and George Ferrin, Southern Pa
cific railroad engineer, have been
in consultation relative to a
change in the main line of the
Southern Pacific near where it
enters the Salem city limits on
the south. The railroad company
wishes to rebuild the track to
make it run west of the present
main line at a point nearly oppo
site , the Texaco oil plant. The
present main line track will then
be used as a spur, rerrin nas m
dicated. Engineer Hubbs has re
ported - that the relocation will
permit the county to eliminate
one bridge on the Turner road
which at present parallels the
tracks.
