Captain Caution" With

The roaring action of battles on
the high seas, the thrilling.
smashing action of two vessels
fighting for supremacy is unfold
ed with terrific Impact and am ax

tain Caution," the sweeping sea
epic based on Kenneth Roberts'
best seller, which is now featured
at the Capitol theatre. Starred In
the film are Victor Mature and
Louise Piatt, and in prominent
supporting roles are such i favor
ites as Leo Carrillo, Bruce Cabot,
Vivienne Osborne, Robert Barrat
and Miles Mander.
One of the big Jobs facing the
Captain Caution" company was
the rigging of the good! ships
"Olive Branch" and "Beetle,"
which take part In the sea battle
during the war of 1812. Fifteen
experts were engaged to construct
a total of five complete masts, with
rigging strong enough for a scene
in which 25 feet of snapping rope
and a huge spar could fall from
the roof of the set and swing a
tew Inches over the heads of Vic
tor Mature and Louise Piatt, hero
and heroine of the picture.1
The slam-bang, rough-and-tum
ble fight between Victor Mature
and Bruce Cabot in "Captain Cau
tion" required two and one-half
days to film. Both actors used to
do a lot of amateur boxing, bnt
they agreed that this so-called
sham battle was the most strenu
ous in which they had ever engaged.
